St Christopher’s November recap

An enrichment session at Dyno Climbing in Totnes

November has been a month full of energy, community spirit, and brilliant achievements at St Christopher’s.

We started the month with fantastic news from the Swimming Gala, where our children shone with determination, talent, and teamwork. Their success was a true reflection of the effort they’ve put into their training, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Festivities began early this year with a magical pantomime experience from the Rainbow Theatre Company. Children had earned their Golden Tickets through thoughtful acts at home, showing kindness in all sorts of ways – from cooking shepherd’s pie and cleaning out the pigs, to helping grandparents in the garden and supporting local events. Their enthusiasm carried straight into the performance as they sang, acted, and cheered to help protect Sleeping Beauty from the evil fairy. Huge thanks to the Rainbow Theatre team and, of course, to our wonderful children for making the afternoon such a joy. (And yes, writing this without a single panto pun was a challenge.)

On Friday 7 November, we welcomed families to our now-annual FOSC Autumnal Get Together – an evening that glowed in every sense. Glow in the Dark Dodgeball, marshmallows by the fire, hot dogs, mulled apple juice, and pumpkin-themed crafts all came together to create a warm and joyful gathering. The laughter around the firepit as the sun went down was a lovely reminder of the strength and warmth of our school community.

Later in the month, our pupils took part in an enrichment session at Dyno Climbing in Totnes, where they stretched themselves both physically and mentally. They supported one another brilliantly as they learned new skills, pushed their limits, and discovered how high they could climb – literally and figuratively. We are very grateful to the expert team at Dyno Climbing for their encouragement and guidance.

And finally, St Christopher’s itself is reaching new heights. Renovation work is well under way, and the school is transforming once again. These changes reflect our commitment to spaces that evolve with our pupils – dynamic, inspiring, and as forward-thinking as our curriculum. We’re investing in the next chapter of St C, ensuring that the environment our children learn in is every bit as vibrant as they are. Photos to follow soon.
