Fire Safety Awareness

Posted: 15th November 2018

If your child has been urging you to check your smoke alarms this week it is probably because the Fire Service gave a presentation on fire safety to the children in Prep 2 and Prep 5. The children were also asked to check that they know their address in case they need to make a call to the emergency services. The children practised the ‘Stop, drop and roll’ technique used to stop a clothes fire spreading.

Mrs Wadsley, the School Nurse, talked to the children about using medicines safely. She explained the importance of storing medicines out of reach of children and pets,  who children should take medicines from and what to do should  the children ever find a discarded syringe.
