A beautiful conclusion to our Easter term

Posted: 4th April 2023

We had a wonderful conclusion to our Easter term with a beautiful service at Staverton Church followed by an indoor Easter egg hunt.

We’re so lucky to have Staverton Church on our doorstep. It’s less than a half mile from our school and boasts some remarkable history.

Legend has it that in Saxon times, after St Paul de Leon landed at Penzance and built his church at St Pol, he sailed along the coast to Devon and then up the River Dart. He decided to build a church, which has been a place of worship for ten centuries.

A visit to the church reveals a lovely interior with a quite magnificent wooden Rood Screen. We have always found it so warm and welcoming and a lovely place for our Harvest Festival, Easter and End of Year Service.

During this year’s Easter service one of our fabulous prep 3 pupils accompanied the Junior Choir for a performance of Jesus the King is Risen.

We hope all the children have a fabulous Easter holiday!
