The summer term has barely started and we were straight in yesterday with the final of the Teignbridge small schools football final. We met our friendly rivals Trinity, playing at Bradley Barton school in Newton Abbot.
The game started at a frantic pace with both teams having chances to score early on before a defensive mistake allowed Trinity to score.
Eventually with some pressure on the Trinity goal we were able to equalise through a cross which deflected off a Trinity defender. Unfortunately Trinity scored just before half time to lead going into the break.
The second half became a more defensive role with Charlie G in goal pulling off some fantastic saves and the defenders putting in some blocks and tackles to minimise Trinity to only one further goal to win the match 3-1.
All of the squad played their hearts out against a very strong team. They kept persevering until the end and represented the school with pride. They now have silver medals to show for their endeavours.
Well done to all the team.
