Totnes Castle – Prep 4

Posted: 10th October 2022

As part of their current history topic on the Normans, Prep 4 visited Totnes Castle. The castle was built in 1067 and is a fantastic example of a motte and bailey castle, which has been later developed into a stone keep castle. Prep 4 loved climbing the motte, exploring the stone keep, finding arrow slits and even venturing into the original castle toilet! They also explored the moat and read about what the castle would have looked like in Norman times.
