What a truly fabulous and fulfilling time we’ve all had during Enrichment Week at St Christopher’s Prep School and Nursery! This special week is always a highlight, offering our students invaluable experiences beyond the classroom. From exploring lighthouses to getting hands-on with wildlife, every day was packed with discovery and fun.
Our Prep Reception, Prep 1, and Prep 2 children had an incredible time exploring some of Devon’s most beautiful spots.
First up was a wonderful day at Start Point Lighthouse. After a lovely walk down to the point, they met Mary, who shared fascinating insights into the lighthouse’s history. We climbed all 95 steps to the top to see the light! Then we went to Beesands for some time to draw coastal scenery.
Later in the week, these year groups enjoyed a fantastic day at Paignton Zoo. They loved seeing all the amazing animals and exploring the grounds. A real highlight was the brilliant “Hands on Africa” talk at the Education Centre, where children delved into different habitats and even had the exciting opportunity to touch real animal skins and other interesting artefacts. It was a truly educational, memorable, and fun experience for everyone!
Our Prep 3 and Prep 4 students had a delicious trip to Riverford Field Kitchen. They enjoyed a personal tour of the gardens, the polytunnel, and the business centre, learning about where their food comes from and how a sustainable business operates. Meanwhile, Prep 5 kicked off their adventures with OA Surf Club, undoubtedly catching some waves and making a splash! This was a fantastic way to experience the Cornish coastline.
Prep 6 went to PGL at Barton Hall where they enjoyed an array of exciting activities, including the unique experience of axe throwing and the energetic aeroball. Disk golf and abseiling also filled their days.
To top off an already incredible week, the entire school enjoyed a trip to Blackpool Sands. We were so lucky with the beautiful weather, making it the perfect end to a week filled with learning, laughter, and adventure.
Enrichment Week embodies a holistic and exciting education for all our students at St Christopher’s with these experiences invaluable for developing new skills, which are perfect for creating lasting memories.
