What a half term at St Christopher’s!

Posted: 29th October 2025

St Christopher's at Totnes has enjoyed a great start to the new school year

It’s been a busy and brilliant first half of term at St Christopher’s, filled with discovery, laughter, and plenty of muddy knees. From apple pressing and heart dissections to beach football and Wheely Wednesday, our pupils have certainly made the most of every opportunity.

Our Enrichment Programme has taken learning to new heights – quite literally – with indoor climbing joining the line-up this term. Prep 5 and 6 also got hands-on with biology, exploring the workings of the circulation system through a real sheep’s heart dissection.

Apple Week was a highlight, beginning with a visit to Mrs Kenyon’s orchard, where our Lower School pupils picked a bumper harvest ready for Apple Day. The whole school joined in a full day of apple-themed activities, stories, and plenty of juice tasting.

Wheely Wednesday rolled in with great success – bikes, scooters, and roller skates filled the playground with laughter and energy, marking the end of a fantastic half term.

Our Upper School girls headed to Goodrington Sands for a Beach Football Festival, meeting one of the England Beach Soccer team and showing great skill and teamwork. Back at school, our Tag Rugby teams kicked off the fixtures calendar with enthusiasm and some well-deserved wins.

The ever-popular Chatterbox Champions took on the great debate of “Are books better than movies?” and, in true scholarly style, decided that books came out on top – just in time to enjoy our newly refurbished library.

Throughout it all, the spirit of curiosity, kindness, and adventure has been at the heart of everything. It’s been a wonderful start to the school year, and we can’t wait to see what the next half term brings.
