National Semi Finals – Table Tennis

Posted: 8th February 2022

Last Saturday the girls table tennis team travelled up to Bristol to represent the South West in the national semi finals, which is the last 16 schools in the whole of England. The team of Erin, Beth, Lottie and Indie performed really well as the standard was very high. They played a school from Southend, Essex and battled to a 4-4 draw with an exciting finish as Lottie came from 2-0 down to win the last match 3-2. They then were drawn to play the defending national champions from Kensington, London who proved too strong for us, and went on to qualify the national finals, even though there were some close matches including Erin losing in the decider on a tie break.

This was a great achievement for our little school who were playing against schools who have the same number of pupils in one year group as we have in the whole school and with more facilities!

Well done to the team who represented our school with pride on this big stage.
