Poetry Assembly is always a lovely way to finish the 1/2 term. Today’s poems were all about the Sea and the children performed them all beautifully. It provides a great chance for the Children to learn public speaking skills and grow their confidence.
It gave Mrs Cottell great pleasure to present Sophia with the St Christopher’s Award for the first half of the Spring Term. Well done Sophia.
Nursery had a fabulous day out at Paignton zoo yesterday. We learnt about the animals, the sounds they make and the makaton signs in the education centre with Kathryn and then after a lovely picnic we really enjoyed walking around the zoo spotting all sorts of animals we have been learning about.
Prep 2 enjoying using the classroom instruments to create group compositions based on the Nutcracker’s battle scene.
Prep 6 in drama have been producing their own short scene plays over the last couple of weeks culminating this week with their performances. They have been writing their own scripts, creating music to suit their theme and designing the lighting as well as acting in them.
On Wednesday we took two 5-a-side football teams over to Exeter to play against three Bramdean school teams. Our A team came away with two wins and a close loss and our B team won one match.
Many impressive performances by the girls in a challenging match. First match experience for Eliza and Hannah both adding much to the team performance. Great leadership by Pheobe as captain leading warm-ups and encouraging her younger teammates. Well done to all the girls!
Miss Kett set Prep 5 a co-ordinate challenge. The children have created games for one another to practise their coordinates.
This morning was our Poetry Assembly for the lower School. The children all did a great job to remember their poems and performed them confidently in front of the whole school.
This week in Art Prep 4 have been making some giant Sea Creatures.
