Prep Reception had another lovely afternoon out at Harbour Rise Care Home in Paignton. This was their second visit inspired by the Channel 4 program “Old Peoples Home for 4 Year Olds” and the Children got to play games with some of the Residents that they met before Christmas.
Today we took a team to Holden Forest to take part in the Independent Schools Association (South West) Cross Country championships. We were very please to that four of our children have gained a place at the ISA National Athletics Championships in Rugby on March 30th.
This term Prep 2 have started to use the floor robots within their ICT lessons. They are learning about algorithms in computing and how to de-bug.
Activities for this term have started with a wide range of choices going on around the school. Pictured are Prep 5 who are learning the basic skills of fencing with Mr Bellham, leading up to the full contact version later on in the term.
Despite the weather we are always keen that the Children don’t miss out on their Games lesson. This afternoon the Children have enjoyed practising their catching and throwing skills.
On Wednesday nine of our girls went to Trinity school for an all day netball tournament. Teams had travelled a long way including three teams from Wales and one from Cornwall. The standard was high and the girls did an excellent job of fighting through the more challenging games. We had a mixture of results…
Prep 6 started off the new term by learning some new skills in Gardening club.
This week we challenged Prep 5 & 6 to make some leaf art. Some interesting ideas led to fantastic collages, including an ostrich and Mr George! Great team work everybody!
This morning Nursery had their weekly Games lesson which is taught by our specialist Games teacher Mr Bellham. The lessons are aimed at teaching the fundamental skills such as Catching, Throwing, Balance, Running and Agility.
We finished our term with a Wonderful Carol Service. We wish all our children and parents and very Happy Christmas.
