We’re excited to announce that St Christopher’s Prep School and Nursery is a sponsor of Bovey Tracey Cricket Club.

Why Cricket is Great for Kids

Cricket is more than just a game; it’s a fantastic way for children to develop important life skills. Playing cricket teaches kids about teamwork, discipline, and strategic thinking. It helps improve their physical fitness, hand-eye coordination, and reflexes. Cricket also encourages children to respect rules and play fairly, which are valuable lessons both on and off the field.

Participation in cricket can boost self-esteem and confidence as children achieve their personal and team goals. Additionally, the social aspect of cricket helps kids make new friends and learn the importance of communication and collaboration.

Cricket at St Christopher’s

At St Christopher’s Prep School and Nursery, we integrate cricket into our summer term activities. Our students look forward to the cricket season every year. During this time, they receive coaching and participate in matches that help them hone their skills and enjoy the spirit of competition.

Our cricket programme is designed to be inclusive, ensuring that all students can experience the joy of the game.

Our Commitment to Bovey Tracey Cricket Club

Founded in 1850, Bovey Tracey Cricket Club is a historic institution situated at the beautiful Recreation Ground on the South East edge of Dartmoor. The club shares our commitment to making cricket accessible to everyone, regardless of gender, race, age, socio-economic background, or ability. They run a structured coaching and development programme that has seen many young players go on to represent Devon.

Supporting Bovey Tracey Cricket Club means we are helping nurture young talent and providing a safe, inclusive environment for all.
